Basic Design

As a naval engineering Company, Fidema Progetti S.r.l. is able to follow the shipowner from the very early stages of concept and feasibility, going through the general plans, the technical ship specification, retain the relationships with the naval registers and then the approvals of class documents and then move to the hull office and preparation of all the information for the realization of the workshop documents up to the on-board tests and any customer assistance.
For small projects such as pontoons, tankers etc … Fidema Progetti S.r.l. manages the whole process within it. For larger projects such as ferries, cruise ships, etc., the company relies on sub-contractor engineering companies to provide adequate resources to achieve the objectives.

FEM, CFD and Stability

FEM ANALYSIS
Fidema Progetti S.r.l. is able to perform F.E.M. simulating a wide range of physical scenarios related to the thermal and structural behavior of a product. F.E.M. technology allows you to explore countless configurations of a project, in extremely short times and costs compared to traditional methods. Instead of realizing several real prototypes, virtual models are tested; these can be modified faster and give the designer much more information. The software cad ANSYS SpaceClaim Direct Modeler allows you to simplify the work of preparing the 3D geometry to be passed to ANSYS Mechanical Premium with which the calculations will then be processed.

CFD ANALYSIS
Fidema Progetti is able to perform CFD simulations going to virtually test a project before performing long and expensive experimental tests. The possibility to try numerous virtual configurations allows to find the best solution at low costs.

STABILITY CALCULATIONS
Fidema Progetti S.r.l. is able to perform the stability calculations of intact and damaged ship starting from the generation or import of the hull surfaces and the implementation of the compartments.
We are also able to follow the phases for ship weighing and ship inclining tests.

HVAC

ACS Trunk

Thanks to over twenty years experience, Fidema has consolidated a great SKILL in the coordination of air conditioning stations both in the naval and civil sectors.
The project takes shape with the development of the arrangement based on the process flow and thermal calculations up to the emission of the assembly plans.
The documents used are usually P & ID, single line air conditioning and functional diagrams of all the plants present in ACS.
We provide 3D models developed with Microstation or Autocad, printing tables on any format and accessory lists of all the systems present.


Coordination Plans

In this context, we develop general plans, functional diagrams, pipe sketching, material lists, the cutting of ducts and pipes, the coordinated plans inside and outside the engine, positioning machines, quality controls, inspections and service on board.

The co-ordination of the routes of pipes and hollow roads takes place in a three-dimensional environment, ensuring the correct sizing and positioning of the accessories to be applied externally to the air handling units, through the preparation of project documents.

Reference models for water systems are also provided, designed to serve the air-conditioning batteries, through valve groups and sensors.
Checks are also performed for the sizing and design of additional support structures such as racks and supports. In addition to this we provide detailed installation plans drawn from three-dimensional models.

For the inside engines systems:
– checking and placing of the machine units
– foundation equipments and lifting systems realization
– coordination of the plants by the P&ID
– constructive drawings for the carpentry
– materials supply list (BOM)
– assembly plans


Tagging

Pipelines tagging is one of the most important activities that Fidema carries out before the on-board assembly phase.
This activity takes shape from the coordinated plans to find out the pipelines that must be identified and divided into individual elements for production and assembly.
Each pipeline must be precisely identified according to customer specifications, which may vary depending on the thickness of the sheets, flanges, materials and weights. During the cutting phase (tagging), the hull interfaces and potential interferences between services are also checked.
Another fundamental aspect is that of identifying all the different accessories that must be installed in line such as dampers, regulators, post RH.


Non Distructive Test

Thanks to a team of specialized technicians, Fidema Group can perform the following tests:

– Visual controls
The visual controls are particularly important from the moment in which, through the use of sophisticated optical equipment and electronic image processing, the evaluation of the result is performed by the operator in compliance with the tolerance rules for component-specific defects.

– Controls with penetrating liquids
Penetration tests are fast, economical and widely used methods for detecting surface break points on non-porous materials (metals, plastics or ceramics). The test is based on the principle of capillary action of the liquid that enters the cavity. The test is performed by cleaning the surface to be tested, applying the colored or fluorescent test liquid followed by the restoration of the identified problem.

– Ultrasound test
The properties of ultrasound are used to identify the weakness of the material in some points or any internal discontinuities.
It is an extremely sensitive test method to trace even the most hidden and internal defects.
